Matema - The Journey of published works
Matema learned early that writing begins as a need to tell a story and as the saying goes, “sometimes paper is the only thing that will listen.” Her professional writing career began when she scripted the NBC/WRC show, Kellie’s Korner. This show, a children’s public affairs show took the brave approach that children had stories, often difficult to hear, which needed to be aired. Listening to young voices became a passion that led to the creation of the World Writes Theater, an intercultural high school program which expanded the skills of creative writing and monologue.
Words have a way of flowing into every venue. Matema’s published works are diverse.
